Reventon Seeking A Happy Return

By thedogs.com.au

Impressive newcomer Reventon will have his first race start in more than three months when he lines up in race nine at Bulli on Tuesday night.

Reventon won his first three career starts but suffered an injury when finishing third at Bulli behind winner Black Bear Lee on July 10.

With his greyhound back to full fitness, trainer Charlie Riccio thinks he can make his race return a winning one in the Bulli Dogs On Facebook Stakes (400m).

“If he can repeat what he has showed already then he’s in with a good chance,” Riccio said.

“I wouldn’t put him in if he wasn’t fit enough. I think he should run well.

“He was educated at Bulli and Dapto so he knows this track. He should handle the box with aplomb is capable of leading these.

“I don’t know if he can get back to what he was – this will show us a lot – but I’m optimistic for a win here.”

Reventon scored his three wins at Goulburn, including an eye-catching 19.79 for the 350m at his second start.

In other action, the Christine Proctor-trained Carjack Arrest (box two) goes for a fourth straight victory in the night’s fourth race (472m).

After scoring two wins here over the 400m, Carjack Arrest scored a terrific 26.20 win at Bulli last Tuesday at her first attempt at the 472m.

Former Victorian Bowl ‘Em Out (box two) scored a super 25.93 win here over the 472m last week and can repeat that victory in race five.

The Mark Azzopardi-trained son of Brett Lee and Unfinished defeated a quality field last week and on that form can triumph again.

Azzopardi could also score a victory with It’s A Bird (box eight) in the night’s sixth race over 590m.

A winner of eight of her 14 starts so far, It’s A Bird has triumphed on all three of her visits here so far and has also won two of her three starts wearing the pink rug.
