Blazin' Bomber Aims To Boom In Vic Peters

Cranbourne Puppy Classic winner Blazin’ Bomber will make his Wentworth Park debut this Saturday as he chases his second major title in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Vic Peters Classic (520m) series.

Blazin’ Bomber was an impressive winner of the Group 3 Cranbourne Puppy Classic in August and followed that up with a victory in a heat of the Group 3 SA Derby before injury prevented him from taking his spot in the final.

He goes into Saturday’s Vic Peters heats with a solid 29.85 win at Sandown Park last Thursday and will no doubt be one of the early favourites to take out the Group 1 title.

Darren Pattison’s greyhound will line up in box six in the seventh Vic Peters heat where he will go up against this year’s Magic Maiden winner Black Bear Lee (pictured, box one) and Wentworth Park winner Magic Spring (box two).

Among the other entries in the Vic Peters series is No Donuts, who has won four races at Wentworth Park and has a track best of 29.59.

No Donuts jumps from box four in heat two, having prepared for Saturday’s assignment with a convincing 24.85 win over the 450m at Maitland last week.

Meanwhile, Group 3 Laurie Healion Memorial Maiden (515m) winner Good Odds Angel returns from a layoff in heat four on the program.

The daughter of Spring Gun and Punk Angel has not raced since August 29 but if she is anywhere near her best she will no doubt feature in the finish of her heat.

The Vic Peters Classic series is open to greyhounds whelped on or after April 1, 2013.

There will be eight heats staged with the first four from each heat qualifying for next week’s semi finals with the final to be staged on October 31.
