Proctors Have An Arresting Chance At Bulli

By Stuart Turner

Alan and Christine Proctor are getting the best out of their veteran greyhounds but one of their hot newcomers looks ready to shine at Bulli on Friday night.

Carjack Arrest (box five) won on debut for the western Sydney couple at Bulli last week and should feature again in the Bulli Racing Next Tuesday Stakes (race 10, 400m).

Having earlier trialled well at the NSW South Coast track, the daughter of Nitro Burst and Flying Liddy came home in a solid 22.50.

That was from box one but Christine Proctor believes her greyhound can salute here despite the trickier draw.

“I think she’s a decent chance,” Proctor said. “She showed good pace last week and I think she can show more.

Obviously a lot depends on how she starts, but clearly she’s a good little chaser.

“She had a pin muscle injury which delayed her (and) we’ve had some setbacks with her, so it’s great to see her racing.

“I’m not sure if she can run the 500 but she’s got to be a threat here.”

Inner City (box eight) also looks a decent value chance for the Proctors in race five (590m).

The son of Bekim Bale and My Black Bess extended his record to 15 wins and 25 minor placings from 83 starts with a win last start at Richmond.

Knocka’s Return (box one) is the likely favourite but Inner City has placed in five of six previous visits to Bulli and has been a consistent recent performer.

The Proctors are enjoying a super run at the moment with the likes of newcomers Carjack Arrest, She Knows Fabio and veteran kennel star Bessy Boo, who aims for another win at Wentworth Park this Saturday.

Bessy Boo is just a one-in-a-million greyhound,” Christine Proctor said.  “He just wants to get out and compete all the time.

“We just try and get the best out of our greyhounds (and) Obviously the results make all the hard work worthwhile, but really – Bessy Boo just does it all himself.

“He’s unbelievable.”

In other action at Bulli, Sokyo (box six) looks a strong chance to salute again in race six over the 472m.

Christine Oldfield’s greyhound has returned superbly after almost six months on the sidelines with two wins from three starts.

This is his first trip over the 472m since March but he is reliable from this box and looks the best.

Minuscule and Spring Gate both look ideally drawn in box one to take out races one and four respectively.
