Winsome Warrior Aims To Extend Run

By thedogs.com.au

Winsome Warrior has been in brilliant form since heading west and he looks a strong chance to salute again at Saturday’s Mandurah meeting.

The former NSW greyhound jumps from box seven in the D & L Electrical And Air Stakes (race three, 405m) aiming for a seventh win in eight starts at the track since transferring to the kennels of Steve Withers.

Five of those wins have been over this trip, including another solid 22.72 run last week.

The son of El Grand Senor and Ramblin’ Ruby has never had the greatest luck from box seven, scoring one win and one placing from four previous starts with the black rug, but in current form looks the strongest here.

Total Ratbag (box two) did have a 22.77 win here two starts back and looks a threat, but Winsome Warrior will likely take some beating.

Another greyhound in strong form is West On Sally, who looks capable of continuing her great record at Mandurah in race seven over the 490m.

The daughter of Bye Bye Bucks and Gogo Sutor (box three) is building an impressive record, scoring 10 wins and three minor placings from 16 starts so far.

She has won seven and placed three times in 11 attempts over this distance and looks the best here.

Elsewhere, veteran Thunder Rama looks ideally drawn to take out a terrific race four (490m).

John Iwanyk’s greyhound (box one) is nearing 100 starts but is in consistent form, with three wins and three minor placings from his last seven starts.

He scored a terrific 27.48 win against a similarly strong field here last month with the red rug and has four wins and seven minor placings from 13 starts from box one.

Yunderup Dozer (race 10) and Whim Wham Bam in race 12 both look decent value chances.

The Andrew McLaren-trained Yunderup Dozer (box six) faces a tough field but has scored two good wins here over the 490m in his last four starts.

Whim Wham Bam is a promising pup for Graeme Hall who has scored two wins in his first three starts.

The son of Fabregas and Magic Satinka has never jumped from this box before but looks to have the pace to figure here.
