GRNSW Announces Tamara May Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of 6alpha-hydroxtstanazol in the sample taken from Tamara May after it won the Maitland Mercury Maiden at the Maitland meeting on 9 July 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Tamara May's trainer Stuart Barron has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 3 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with by way of an Inquiry before GRNSW Stewards.

A date for the Inquiry has yet to be set.
