GRNSW Announces Shesa Felon Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of 6-hydroxystanazol in the sample taken from Shesa Felon after it won the Laurie Healion Memorial Maiden Heat at The Gardens meeting on 18 July 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Shesa Felon's trainer Caroline Hughes has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 3 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with by way of an Inquiry before GRNSW Stewards.

A date for the Inquiry has yet to be set.
