GRNSW Announces Gold Steel Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Heptaminol in the sample taken from Gold Steel after it won the Ladbrokes.com.au Maiden Heat at the Lismore meeting on 7 July 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Analytical Services (VIC) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Gold Steel's trainer Patrick Maloney has been advised of the irregularity.

Despite the prohibited substance being a Category 4 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines and due to the circumstances of the matter it has been determined that the matter be dealt with by way of an Inquiry before GRNSW Stewards.

A date for the Inquiry has yet to be set.
