GRNSW Announces In The End Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Betamethasone in the sample taken from In The End after it won the Unibet Gardens Maiden Final at The Gardens meeting on 26 June 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. In The End's trainer Kenneth Cheetham has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 5 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.

GRNSW will provide further details once Mr Cheetham has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
