Help Raelee Raise Vital Funds At Gosford

Participants can once again help raise potentially life-saving funds and enjoy a super night’s entertainment at this Tuesday’s Gosford Greyhound Racing Club’s Pink Ribbon meeting.

NSW Central Coast trainer and breast cancer survivor Raelee Shearer has once again organised the annual event, which has raised thousands of dollars for Cancer Council NSW since its introduction in 2010.

The pink-themed event will again raise valuable funds for people affected by breast and gynaecological cancers.

The meeting’s feature race will be the ‘Pink Ribbon Day Stakes’ for the best eight fifth grade female greyhounds nominated. The winner will receive $2000 as well as a presentation rug and a trophy.

Local businesses have offered sponsorship for the event, together with stud masters, greyhound industry participants and community members.

Plenty of family entertainment, including a raffle, face painting and pink-themed hairspray and nail varnish will also be on offer.

Funds from the evening will also support Cancer Council NSW’s work with patients and families affected by the disease.

Entry is $6.60 on the gate for adults, $3 for pensioners and free for under-18s.

Pre-purchased tickets for adults ($5) are available from Raelee on 0415 098 443, with all proceeds going to the fundraiser.
