Uno Suzie Aims For Group Hat-Trick

By Stuart Turner

Recent Black Top winner Uno Suzie, super veteran Bessy Boo and 2015 star Brad Hill Billy are among the nominations for Saturday night’s Group 2 Bob Payne Sprint Sprint (520m) Heats at Wentworth Park.

Double Group winner Chica Destacada and in-form greyhound La Grand Logie also feature among the four Heats.

Uno Suzie (box four) returns to the Sydney track in Heat four in good form, having captured last month’s Group 2 Black Top and last Sunday night’s Group 3 Canberra Cup.

She can continue her good run on Saturday night and has a good record from box four, with three wins from four previous starts.

This Heat also features Brad Hill Billy (box five), La Grand Logie (box six) and Chica Destacada (box seven).

Brad Hill Billy scored his sixth win in 10 starts at Canberra last Sunday and ran a brilliant 29.37 here last month.

Heat one looks very open, with perhaps Steve White’s Paua To Roar (box five) one of the leading chances.

Paua To Roar has won twice and placed twice on his last four visits at Wentworth Park and is strong with the yellow rug, with four wins from six previous starts.

Knight Sprite (box one) returned to form with a 29.76 run here last Saturday night and is also worth considering.

He is usually better drawn wider but has enjoyed a good 2015 and loves coming to Wentworth Park, with six victories at the track

Bessy Boo (box seven, pictured) could only manage fifth when well backed in last Friday’s Group 1 Dapto Megastar but could bounce back in the second Heat here.

Christine Proctor’s greyhound has won four and placed five times on his last nine visits to Wentworth Park.

He is reasonably solid from this draw, having won four and placed four times from 13 starts with the black rug, and with his notoriously powerful engine is always a threat.

Both Ritza Rossi (box four) and Opus Forte (box five) have been running excellently at Wentworth Park recently.

Meanwhile, the in-form Avenging Gun (box five) could be a decent series bolter in the third Heat.

He qualified for Group 2 Black Top final – finishing fifth – and overcame a decent field here last Saturday night in 29.87.

Likewise, Funky Punk (box one) also catches the eye as a value outsider.

Jimmy Coyle’s greyhound has been unsuccessful in his past two starts at Wentworth Park, but is two from two from this box at the track, clocking sub-30 seconds on both occasions.
