By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Caffeine, Theophylline, Paraxanthine, Theobromine and Paracetamol in the sample taken from Targaryen after it won a Peter Mosman Heat at the Wentworth Park meeting on 6 June 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Analytical Services (VIC) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Targaryen's trainer Ken Burnett has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substances detected in the sample are Category 4 and 5 substances under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.

GRNSW will provide further details once Mr Burnett has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
