Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Prednisone, Prednisolone and 20beta-dihydroprednisolone in the sample taken from My Girl Cass after it won the taragreyhounds.com.au Maiden at the Maitland meeting on 4 June 2015.
The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. My Girl Cass' trainer Nancy McIntosh has been advised of the irregularity.
As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 5 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.
GRNSW will provide further details once Mrs McIntosh has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
