Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Caffeine, Theophylline, Paraxanthine and Theobromine in the sample taken from Dear Darcey after it won the wentworthpark.com.au BP Heat at the Wentworth Park meeting on 23 May 2015.
The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Dear Darcey's trainer John Ayoub has been advised of the irregularity.
As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 4 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.
GRNSW will provide further details once Mr Ayoub has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
