Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Methylprednisolone in the sample taken from Omega Deacon after it won the Auspump Concrete Services Stakes at the Bulli meeting on 1 April 2015.
The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Omega Deacon's trainer Jodie Lord has been advised of the irregularity.
As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 5 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.
GRNSW will provide further details once Ms Lord has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
