GRNSW Announces Wilma Sprite Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of 5beta-androstane-3alpha, 17beta-diol in the sample taken from Wilma Sprite after it won the Club MUDGEE Maiden at the MUDGEE meeting on 1 March 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Wilma Sprite's trainer Raymond Stevenson has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 3 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with by way of an Inquiry before GRNSW Stewards.

The Inquiry has been scheduled to be heard on Tuesday 15 September 2015 at the offices of the Bathurst GBOTA.
