GRNSW Announces Lacinda's Boy Inquiry

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Dexamethasone in the sample taken from Lacinda’s Boy after it won the Remedial Building Systems Stake at the Richmond meeting on 28 January 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Analytical Services (VIC) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Lacinda's Boy's trainer Bruce King has been advised of the irregularity,

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 5 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter is being dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.

Mr King has entered a guilty plea to a charge under Rule 83 (2) (a) via correspondence for having presented Lacinda’s Boy at Richmond on 28 January 2015. GRNSW Stewards are now considering the submissions of Mr King in relation to penalty and will determine what penalty should be imposed.
