GRNSW Announces Be The Influence Inquiry

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of Dexamethasone in the sample taken from Be The Influence after it won the Appliance Man Maiden at the Wagga meeting on 23 January 2015.

The reserve portion of the sample was sent to Racing Science Centre (QLD) and has been confirmed to contain the prohibited substance. Be The Influence's trainer Kerrie Walker has been advised of the irregularity.

As the prohibited substance detected is a Category 5 substance under the GRNSW’s penalty guidelines the matter will be dealt with having regard to the protocols established under the guidelines.

GRNSW will provide further details once Ms Walker has had an opportunity to make submissions regarding the irregularity of the sample.
