Dyna Double One Heads Derby Hopefuls

By thedogs.com.au

Star Victorian Dyna Double One and recent Group 3 Cranbourne Puppy Classic winner Blazin’ Bomber head the contenders for the Group 3 BGC Industrial Cleaning Supplies SA Derby (515m) Heats.

This year’s Group 2 WA Derby winner Fun Boss and local star Worm Burner also feature in Thursday night’s four Heats of the $25,000-to-the-winner series at Angle Park.

Dyna Double One jumps from box eight in the first Heat, fresh from his 29.43 run here in a Free-For-All last week.

Andrea Dailly’s gun greyhound has won two of his three starts from box eight and has won six of his last 10 starts.

Fun Boss (box seven) makes his SA debut after enjoying a superb year in WA, where he has extended his career record to 15 wins and nine minor placings in 28 starts.

He trialled at Angle Park last week in 30.01, but on current form Dyna Double One looks hard to beat.

Local star Worm Burner (box eight) is flying at the moment and looks the pick in the second Heat.

The Cameron Butcher-trained son of Oaks Road and Little Looper has won four of his first five starts and scored a terrific 29.71 win here from box eight last month.

Dyna Double One’s kennelmate Diego Bale (box seven) looks the pick in Heat three.

The son of Taylors Sky and Zambola Bale finished fifth on his last start at Sandown Park over the 515m, although he still clocked 29.99.

He was a regular winner prior to his last two unsuccessful starts and looks a strong chance here.

Heat four features a cracking contest between It’s Classified (box two) and Blazin’ Bomber in box four.

It’s Classified ran a brilliant 29.53 here in July and has extended his career record to six wins and three minor placings from 10 starts.

His last run here was a 30.55 runner-up spot, though, and he has only broken 30 seconds once in his last five starts at Angle Park.

Blazin’ Bomber defeated a strong field to seal the Cranbourne Puppy Classic with a 30.13 win in the final.

This is his first competitive trip to South Australia but he trialled here last week in 29.85 and is in outstanding form, with 10 wins and two minor placings from 12 starts.

Both Blazin’ Bomber and Dyna Double One look the ones to beat in the series, with Worm Burner a decent roughie.

This terrific meeting also features the final of the Group 3 Coffex Coffee SA Oaks (515m).
