Lachie Lyndan Aims For A City Win

By Stuart Turner

Lachie Lyndan  looks a strong contender for next month’s Group 3 Charcoal Inn Casino Cup but trainer Terry Jordan is hoping for a win on Thursday at Albion Park first.

The son of Dyna Lachlan and Miss Kay Tee jumps from box two in the Glen Gallon @ Stud (520m, race 4) looking to continue his impressive recent form.

Lachie Lyndan made it five wins in his last seven starts with a commanding six-length triumph in the AB Casey Memorial Final (484m) at Casino last Friday night (pictured, courtesy Lisa Vanderstok).

That continued his commanding record at his home track and Jordan hopes he can claim a first win over the 520m north of the border.

“I’m very happy with him,” Jordan said. “I would be even happier if he started winning in town.

"It's very satisfying when you put the hard work in with your greyhounds and they perform like this.

"He is going well and we've just got to keep on going."

Lachie Lyndan made it 11 wins and five minor placings in 24 starts with his latest success, which made it three wins from three visits to Casino.

He looks a hot pick for the Casino Cup, which starts with heats on September 18.

Lachie Lyndan is not the fastest here but he has won at Albion Park over the 395m.

His only start here over the 520m was a solid if unspectacular 30.32 effort in mid-June but he seems to have improved considerably since then.

“Most of his litter seemed to mature once they turned two-and-a-half,” Jordan said. “It seems to come together all of a sudden for them.

“I think (as well) it comes back to the old adage, ‘the more work you put in, the better the results’.

I’ve learned that greyhound training is a week-to-week thing. There are 101 things that can go wrong.

“I never look too far ahead but if he is right (for the Casino Cup) then he will be in it.”

Rosdue Dynamo (box 1) has raced here well recently and with this draw is worth considering.

Another NSW Northern Rivers hopeful, Mincin’ Machine, looks the top pick in race seven (520m).

He ran a super 29.92 here last week and is on a hot streak of form for trainer Pat Lavis.

Race eight looks a terrific affair, with classy railer Cash In Motion (box one) the one to be on.

Outside Pass (race three) and Annie Benz in race nine also look the class acts in their respective fields.
