Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the Racing Appeals Tribunal has announced its decision on the appeal by trainer Troy Donaldson against a penalty imposed by GRNSW stewards for a breach of Gar 83(2) (a).
Mr Donaldson appealed against the severity of the 12 month disqualification imposed on him after he presented Ninja Turtle to compete in race 1, the Welcome to Newcastle Greyhound Stake, at The Gardens meeting on 24 January 2015 other than free of any prohibited substance in that the urine sample taken from the greyhound after the race was found on confirmatory analysis to contain boldenone and androsta-1, 4-diene-3,17-dione.
The tribunal upheld the appeal in part and amended the penalty to a nine month disqualification.
Mr Donaldson's appeal deposit was refunded.
