Happy Times Could Be Here For Anthony

By Jeff Collerson

Rookie trainer Anthony Bragg has a great chance of landing his first Wentworth Park double on Saturday night with his "home grown'' pair Time">Time No Money and Time">Time For Money.

Time No Money has box four in the first AAA Radiator Specialists Series heat (race one, 520m)  while her litter brother Time For Money has drawn the rails in heat five (race five).

"Time For Money is the quicker of my pair but his sister Time No Money continues to surprise me,'' Bragg said.

The duo are offspring of Bragg's first greyhound Time And Money, who forced his owner into the training side of the sport when she was rejected by other trainers.

Under Bragg's care Time And Money reached top grade at Wentworth Park.

Time No Money has had a win and a second from two Wentworth Park races with his toughest opponent on Saturday likely to be the John Callaughan-trained Calla Boom.

Calla Boom came from last at the pen and fifth on the back straight to beat all but Rob Stark in a flying 29.68 at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night.

"She had box seven tonight but is much better suited in box two on Saturday,'' Callaughan said after Wednesday's race.

Outlaw Jack scored a surprise best of the night 29.71sec win at Wentworth Park on June 19 and trainer Charlie Gatt believes the dog can reproduce that effort in Saturday night's Rapidvite Stakes (race 10).

"Previously the closer to the rails he drew the better he went,'' Gatt said.

"Even though he was trialling well I was worried when he drew box eight on June 19 but for the first Time in his life he ran in a direct line to the first turn instead of trying to cross sharply to the rails.

"If he begins as well as he did in that win and runs in a straight line again he should again show what he can do.''

Smart provincial sprinters Lika Storm and Lika Zircon will make their first Wentworth Park appearances in heats four and five of the AAA Radiator Specialists Series without a trial on the track.

Lika Storm has won in a smart 30.13sec over 520m at Nowra while Lika Zircon's three wins from six starts include a slick 22.63 win over 400m at Richmond.

Lika Storm has box five in heat four and Lika Zircon box three in heat five but despite their lack of Wenty know-how trainer Denice Warren says they are fit and well.

"Lika Storm is very honest and has pace but is hit and miss at the start and although she has won over 520m at Nowra, that distance is about as far as she likes to go,'' Warren said.

"Lika Zircon is a smart dog and although he has not raced over 520m he will handle that journey okay.

"He is talented but his problem is he tends to begin slowly.''

A drop from top grade to fifth class should give Jewel Action her third win from her past four Wentworth Park starts in the Ladbrokes Monthly Medal Jackpot Stakes.

Jewel Action has won four of her seven races from box one and should wear the red rug to victory again.

She won a Free For All at Wentworth Park on June 12 so looks well placed in Saturday night's fifth grade.
