No Donuts Lands The Prize

By Jeff Collerson

Trainer Brad Canty had four starters in three hours on Saturday night and won with them all, culminating in kennel star No Donuts' sizzling 29.65 Wentworth Park victory.

Canty's exciting newcomers Moral and Can't Get On scored impressive 400m wins at Unibet Gardens while Constable Sniff rung up win number three at his fifth Wentworth Park outing in a 520m fifth grade.

Two races later, and exactly three hours after Moral's all-the-way win, No Donuts "toughed it out" to hold off Winsome Mission in a fourth and fifth grade event.

It was No Donuts' ninth win in 17 appearances and one of the greyhound's best performances as he survived a minor bumping duel with pacemaker Master Gee at the first corner.

"I'll just take races as they come with No Donuts because people forget he is just two years old and is even eligible for group one races like the Silver Chief Classic at The Meadows, which is not run until December," Canty said after the race.

In other results, Chica Destacada scored the 13th Wentworth Park win of her brilliant career leading all the way to take out the night's open grade race in 29.64 - the best time of the night.

Lady Livingston, meanwhile, became one of the sport's super mums when she led throughout in Saturday night's opening event for owner-trainer Leanne Procopio.

Lady Livingston was having her first race for eight months

"Six months ago she whelped a litter of pups to Bekim Bale," Procopio explained.

"When she clocked 30.23 in a stewards' trial at Wentworth Park on June 8 she was coming off two 400m trials so I expected her to go well, although box eight is not really her draw."

Allmendinger is set to be stepped up in distance after his barnstorming 520m win at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Despite bungling the start Allmendinger railed into third place at the catching pen and after being third turning for home, overpowered pacemaker Cosmic Swiper in the straight to win in a nippy 29.91.

"He is looking for more ground so I'll probably step him up now, beginning with a 515m and then a 590m race at Bulli," trainer Justin King said later.

See you next week!
