All Looking Good For King's Hope At Bulli

By Stuart Turner

The signs are pointing to a win for Allmendinger">Allmendinger at tonight’s Bulli meeting while classy veteran Natural Player also looks good to score yet another success.

Justin King’s Allmendinger, who returned with a solid placing here last week here after almost three months out with injury, exits from box one in the Bulli’s Racing On Fridays In July Stakes (472m, race five).

The son of Dyna Lachlan and Miss Lolola has had an eventful career since debuting in April 2014, but has secured five wins and nine minor placings from 23 starts.

Three of his triumphs have been at Bulli and with a trio of victories from four previous starts with the red rug, owner-trainer King is confident of a strong showing here.

“Last week was really just a hitout for him,” he said. “I’m expecting better things here.

“He likes the big, roomier tracks, so Bulli suits him. The long straight run home there helps him too.

“The eight greyhound (Lord Golec) is the main danger. He is very strong, although I believe he is better going further than this.

“I believe Allmendinger can go well here.”

Allmendinger looked a hot prospect when he won four of his first 10 starts in decent company, including clocking 29.69 at Wentworth Park.

He had a decent four months running in Victoria but his progress has been delayed by an achilles tendon injury.

King’s greyhound is not the fastest out of the boxes but really motors when he hits the ground and with the red rug should be too good here.

In other action at Bulli, Natural Player (box one) looks the pick in a very competitive race six.

Mark Wilcox’s classy veteran has found it tough here recently but has a phenomenal record at Bulli.

Peter Mosman Classic semi-finalist Master Gee (box four) looks tough but from the inside Wilcox’s greyhound looks the one to beat.

Estranged has a good record here and with his usually explosive early pace is the one to back in race eight.

Eye-catching newcomer Asa Hard Knox hit trouble last start at Dapto but still ran well to finish second and should be too good for the rest in race three.
