Kayda Shae Takes Out Bulli Cup

By Jess Moran

Kayda Shae will return to NSW to tackle this weekend’s Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic after taking out last Friday night’s Group 2 Cyril Rowe Bulli Cup.

The Kelly Bravo-trained greyhound ran a brilliant race in the Bulli feature, jumping well and building up a solid lead before powering home for a 6 ¾ length victory in a time of 26.07 – the fastest recorded on the night.

The victory extended Kayda Shae's record to eight wins from just the 11 starts.

Waymore's Blues secured the quinella for Bravo after chasing home his kennel-mate while Winsome Jacko rounded out the placings after a gallant run to come from the rear of the field.

Kelly Bravo's husband Brett made the trip up from Victoria with the greyhounds and was thrilled with the way Kayda Shae ($2.80) executed his run.

"It was great effort from him tonight. We thought he'd have a good chance in the race and he came through," Bravo said.

"Out of our three runners he was boxed the best and it looked to help him get away the best."

Kayda Shae's owner has reportedly turned down multiple six-figure offers for the greyhounds and Bravo confirmed she is keen to keep racing the greyhound.

Bravo confirmed that Kayda Shae, who has been the subject of multiple six-figure offers, will head back up to NSW this week for a crack at the heats of the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

He will take on the likes Fernando Bale, No Donuts and Spacecraft in what is shaping up to be a cracker series.

Bravo was also happy with the run of Waymore's Blues ($18.30) to secure second place.

"He was boxed pretty well and was always going to get a nice easy run which suited him," he said.

Bravo’s third runner in the Cup – Ride The Rails ($2.80) – started equal favourite in the race but was never a factor after a poor beginning. Despite that, the greyhound made good ground late to finish fourth.

Ride The Rails and Waymore's Blues will head back down to Victoria to prepare for the heats of the Group 2 Horsham Cup next week.
