By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory, with initial certified analysis reports from Racing Analytical Services VIC (RASL), of the presence of the prohibited substance Recombinant Human Erythropoietin (EPO) in samples taken from Still Searchin’ after it won a New Sensation heat at Wentworth Park on 20 March 2015 and Down Every Road after it won a Magic Maiden semi final at Wentworth Park on 27 March 2015 and finished third in the Magic Maiden final at Wentworth Park on 4 April 2015.

Trainer Melinda Finn has been advised of the irregularity, with the reserve portion of the sample to undergo further confirmatory analysis by RASL. Following receipt of the confirmatory analysis, GRNSW will determine if an inquiry into the matter will be held.

Under the provisions of Gar 79A (3), the greyhounds are prohibited from starting in any race until a sample clear of the prohibited substance is provided. Samples were taken from Still Searchin’ and Down Every Road at the kennels of Mrs Finn today.
