Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that the Racing Appeals Tribunal has announced its decision following the severity only appeal by trainer Paul Van Gestel against a penalty imposed by GRNSW stewards for a breach of Gar 83(2).
Mr Van Gestel appealed against the four month disqualification imposed on him after he presented Britt's Pick to compete in race 2, the Hiflow Hydraulic 1-3 wins Heat at the Richmond meeting on Wednesday 24 September 14 other than free of any prohibited substance in that the urine sample taken from the greyhound after the race was found on confirmatory analysis to contain 6alpha-hydroxystanozolol.
The tribunal upheld the appeal and amended the penalty to a three month disqualification and a $500 fine.
Mr Van Gestel's appeal deposit was forfeited.
