Bulli Next For Rue De Kahn

By Jess Moran

Rue De Kahn will head to Bulli searching for yet another Group title after her outstanding win in the Group 3 Unibet Richmond Oaks on Saturday night.

Trainer Dean Swain has confirmed that his star greyhound will be set for the heats of the Group 2 Bulli Gold Cup this Friday night after her impressive victory on the weekend.

Jumping from box six in the Oaks, Rue De Kahn (pictured) went straight to front of the field early and managed to lead throughout the race, running home strongly to win in 30.71 and 3 ½ lengths in front of Star Torana with Miss Sueko in third.

It was Rue De Kahn’s second Group victory of her career, having won the Group 1 National Futurity in early 2014.

Swain was over-the-moon with her victory.

"It's great she has been able to add another Group win to her record," Swain said.

"She has been knocking on the door for a long-time now and she deserves it.

"She had great speed to get across the field at the start and showed a lot of track sense to avoid the collision at the first turn.

"Once Rue De Kahn was in the lead they were never going to chase her down."

Swain will now target Rue De Kahn for Friday’s Bulli Gold Cup heats.

Despite her recent good form, Swain is apprehensive about Rue De Kahn's debut at the track.

"She has never had a start or even a trial on a one-turn track before," he said.

"I will trial her tomorrow and see how she goes. She is very quick up the straight at home so I'm hoping that could work in her favour.

"My preference would be an inside draw for the heats so it gives her a better look at the track."

Fields for the heats of the Group 2 Bulli Gold Cup will be released tomorrow.
