Body And Soul Looking Good At Goulburn

By Stuart Turner

Ruth Matic has enjoyed recent success with a potential superstar and another promising gem from her kennel looks a strong winning chance at Tuesday’s Goulburn meeting.

The Canyonleigh trainer, whose newcomer Black Bear Lee won last month’s $25,000-to-the-winner  Group 3 Ladbrokes Magic Maiden, has Body And Soul jumping from box three in the Goulburn GBOTA Novice Final 0-2 Wins (350m) decider.

Body And Soul has enjoyed a strong start to his career, winning last week’s heat by almost 11 lengths in a scorching 19.61 - just .16 outside the track record.

The son of legendary sprinter Brett Lee and Paua Of Love looks a hot prospect and is a strong contender here.

He should benefit from being drawn inside his likeliest closest challenger, Wota Screamer (box four), who ran a strong 19.76 last week.

Body And Soul looks one of the strongest bets of the day in what looks another terrific meeting at Goulburn.

Raw Nerve disappointed last start but can bounce back in the fourth here over 350m.

A member of the strong NSW Central West Ginn kennel, Raw Nerve was flying before finishing last at Richmond from box four.

He has had a a six-week break since then and box two should be more to his liking here.

South Nowra trainer Judith Fisher has been enjoying a decent year and Good Judge should earn her another win in race five over 350m.

He has been solid rather than spectacular recently but looks a class above most of this field from box seven.

Dicaprio (box eight) has a HOLLYWOOD name and looks the one to watch in race six over 350m.

Kim Mulrine’s sprinter ran a strong 20.01 to finish second here last start and can cross the rest to lead and win here.

Roma Girl can return to winning ways with victory in an even-looking race seven, again over 350m.

John Thorpe’s greyhound has not enjoyed the best of luck recently but ran a decent 20.13 here last start when finishing fifth.

This looks slightly easier so a repeat of that run should see her salute from box six.

Avenging Gun had a terrific win at Bulli last start and looks the one to back in the 10th and last.

Antoni Teofilo’s greyhound is fairly consistent and looks ideally drawn from box one to win again here.
