Participants are advised that next Wednesday and Thursday’s scheduled meetings at Maitland will not take place at the track.
This week’s dreadful weather in the area has left the track at Maitland currently unusable and forced alternative arrangements to be made.
The TAB C meeting scheduled for next Wednesday (April 29) has been abandoned. GRNSW will now work with Sky Racing to attempt to reschedule this meeting sometime over the coming weeks.
The TAB B meeting scheduled for Thursday (April 30) will now be transferred to Gosford. Nominations will close at 9am on Monday, April 27 via GRNSW. The first race is scheduled for 3.40pm with kennelling due from 2.10-2.55pm.
The advertised event for the twilight April 30 meeting at Gosford will be:
Ladbrokes Monthly Medal Jackpot for 600m 5th grade greyhounds (Best 8 nominations received + reserves) with $3,000 to be paid to the winner.
All other events will be as determined by nominations received.
Further, participants are advised that trials at the Maitland venue are cancelled until further notice. Pending the outcome of track works, a special trial session will be held on Tuesday, May 5. Further details will be announced when available.
The Maitland venue still has a significant amount of water around key infrastructure, which cannot be assessed for full damage until water levels recede.
GRNSW is also working to have the racing surface cleaned and reinstated as soon as possible and is currently liaising with contractors regarding an appropriate schedule.
Changes to some forthcoming meetings may be made and will be placed on thedogs.com.au’s racing calendar as soon as possible.
As a result of Gosford now racing next week on Tuesday and Thursday, trials scheduled at that track next Wednesday have also been cancelled, though trialling after each race meeting will be available.
