Spacecraft will now likely be primed for the forthcoming Peter Mosman Classic after his dramatic victory in Friday night's Group 2 Maitland Cup decider.
The exciting sprinter (pictured, blue rug) produced a breathtaking finish to narrowly edge out fellow hopefuls La Grand Logie and Camacho and earn Lorraine Atchison her first Group title as an owner-trainer.
Camacho looked poised to secure the $40,000 top prize after bolting out from box two and leading the way at the final turn.
Spacecraft showed his fine racing sense by veering wide for a clear run and whizzing home to win by just under a length in a thrilling finish.

It was a 13th win in 28 starts for the son of Brett Lee x Cristalle, who has been one of NSW's standout performers in recent months.
La Grand Logie, who is trained by Atchison's brother-in-law Jeff Eaton with assistance from her sister Carol, was second as an $18.40 shot.
Ron Bell's Camacho ($10.10) took third.
Atchison told thedogs.com.au after the race that the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic was the next target on the radar for Spacecraft.
In other action on a fatastic night's racing at Maitland, Winsome Senor narrowly missed out on the 565m track record after his great run in the Mai-Wel Middle Distance Championship Stakes for trainer Melinda Finn.
