Daillys Have Dyna-Mite Egg Hopes

By Jeff Collerson

Dyna Double One looks like posing a formidable threat in the mouthwatering Group 1 Golden Easter Egg semi-finals this Saturday.

The exciting sprinter jumps from box one in the first of four top-quality semi-finals of the $250,000-to-the-winner race at Wentworth Park.

He is one of two powerful semi-final prospects for the gun Victorian Dailly kennel, with Fernando Bale (pictured) looking a strong chance from box five in the fourth semi-final.

Kennel spokesman Tom Dailly believes the pair may take some beating in their respective races.

“A few months ago Dyna Double One was the faster of the pair but Fernando Bale has kept improving over the past six weeks and now there is nothing between them,’’ Dailly said.

“Dyna Double One has finished second in each of his two Wentworth Park starts but both runs were terrific and he is superbly drawn in box one.

“He seems to have taken a real liking to Wentworth Park as well.

“There doesn’t seem to be a lot of early pace among the greyhounds drawn around Fernando Bale so if he comes out like he usually does box five should not be a worry.’’

There were no trainers happier with the draw for the semi-finals than Anthony Azzopardi, with his charge My Boy Snoop ready to jump from box one in the first semi-final.

“I’m like the bloke in the Toyota advertisement - I’m jumping up and down with joy,’’ he said.

My Boy Snoop stunned racegoers with an all-the-way heat win from box two at double figure odds, clocking 29.78, and Azzopardi believes he should be improved by the run.

“I’m rapt in box one because I’ve been studying the replays of the heats and expect Midnight Flynn and Zipping Midge, who have boxes two and three, to veer right at the start,’’ Azzopardi said.

My Boy Snoop is perfectly drawn although if he bombs the start, as he has been known to do, box one will be wasted.

“But he pulled up fantastic after his heat win and he certainly gets every chance this week, it’s all up to the dog now.’’

Recruitment ran the race of his life to record a personal best Wentworth Park time of 29.57 when chasing home Fernando Bale in last week’s heats and he is drawn to win the third Egg semi.

The greyhound will carry the red rug and has won three of his six assignments from the rails alley.
