Crashing Packs Can Earn Another Smashing Win

By Stuart Turner

Crashing Packs can underline his recent improvement with a win while exciting duo Astronomize and Starlight Jack both look strong chances at Saturday’s Cannington meeting.

The Steve Shinners-trained Crashing Packs went unplaced in his first three starts at Cannington late last year but has run well at Mandurah since then over the 490m.

He steps up again in distance here in race six, the second of five Gibbons Holden Gosnells Puppy Classic (530m) heats.

With a decent recent trial here and some good form under his belt in 2015, he looks a good chance to win here.

Crashing Packs has been in great form since the turn of the year, with five wins and two minor placings from seven starts

The son of Knocka Norris x Rock Pool will have to win from box four but with decent early pace he should have enough to win.

Starlight Jack looks to have hit top form again and looks a strong chance in race four.

Last year’s Group 3 WA Young Star Classic winner set a personal best 30.21 winning from box two last week.

The Paul Stuart-trained hopeful faces a similar field this week and with the same draw should salute here.

Another of Stuart's gun contenders, Recent Group 1 Perth Cup finalist Astronomize, can overcome a tricky draw from box six and take out race five.

He should be refreshed after a three-week break and is clearly the fastest contender in this race.

Jabba Da Pup made it back-to-back wins last week and looks one of the best of the night in race 11.

Christine Robartson's in-form chaser recorded a superb win over a decent field in last week's Canning Trophy.

He has been of WA's most exciting greyhounds in recent weeks and looks head and shoulders above the rest here.

Take Tick Bale (race three) and Fun Boss in race six to also win here as both looks the standouts in their respective fields.
