Hot Heats In Store At Golden Easter Egg

By Stuart Turner

Star chaser My Bro Fabio takes on I’m Pedro while top NSW hope Chica Destacada faces a formidable field including Dyna Double One in this Saturday’s mouthwatering Group 1 Golden Easter Egg Heats.

Ten star-studded Heats of the $250,000-to-the-winner race have been unveiled, with some terrific racing action in prospect.

Victorian four-time Group winner My Bro Fabio – widely considered Australia’s top current sprinter  – jumps from box three in the third Heat.

After trialling at Wentworth Park in a superb 29.37 last Saturday night, the sprinter already looks hard to match.

In addition to in-form I’m Pedro, the opposition here includes top Victorian Keybow and 2014 Lismore Cup winner Yogi Blue.

Two-time Group winner Chica Destacada (pictured) jumps from box seven in the sixth Heat.

As well as Dyna Double One, she will also face a trio of standout NSW contenders – Anything Less, La Grand Logie and Zipping Oscar.

They jump from boxes three, four and six respectively.

The eighth Heat also looks an absolute cracker, featuring four-time Group winner Ritza Hattie (box two) and fellow star NSW sprinting pair Winsome Prince and Zipping Willow in boxes three and seven respectively.

Spring Leaf, who ran second in the recent National Futurity at Wentworth Park, goes from box eight here and looks an eye-catching roughie for the series.

Heat One features exciting NSW newcomer Are Jai Que (box six), with explosive Victorian Dyna Villa jumping from box eight.

In-form NSW hopefuls Spacecraft and Zipping Abby, who have both lit up Wentworth Park recently with excellent performances, jump from boxes five and six respectively in the second Heat.

Last Friday night's Group 2 Richmond Derby winner Quasi Bale, who looks a tempting contender for the series,  has the red rug here.

Recent Rookie Rebel winner Cosmic Wise (box four) goes in Heat four, while Luca Neveelk, winner of the Australian Cup earlier this month and one of the real standout chances for the Easter Egg, jumps from box seven in Heat five.

This year’s National Derby winner Fernando Bale has drawn box six in the seventh Heat and will have to contend with WA contender Quartz Bale in box two and exciting Victorian Azza Azza Azza from the red rug.

Bad Boy Sniper, who is perhaps NSW’s best hope after his eye-catching recent  form,  jumps from box six in the nighth Heat.

He has Group 1 winner Bessy Boo immediately outside him, with consistent Winsome Mission in box eight.

Kerrigan Bale (box six) goes in Heat 10 alongside and recent National Futurity winner Zipping Midge, who has drawn well in box three and could be a decent chance for the series.

The top three from each Heat automatcially progress to semi-finals on Saturday week, with the final taking place on Saturday, April 4.
