Fancy Fran had a rare misfire last start but owner-trainer Frances Goodwin believes the impressive sprinter should return to winning ways at Nowra today.
The chaser aims to extend her perfect record at the south coast track to six wins from six starts in the day’s seventh race, the Shoalhaven Shuttle Stakes (365m).
Fancy Fran had enjoyed a super start to her racing career before her last outing nine days ago at Canberra, when she walked out of the boxes and came home fifth over the 310m.
She is back in box one today, though, and Goodwin thinks she is drawn to continue her 100 per record at Nowra.
“She’s looking really well,” Goodwin said. “She has been jumping out her skin since her last start..
“She had never been to Canberra before and I think that affected her. She missed the kick and that was it, really.
“Her record shows he loves going to Nowra and I’m pretty confident she can get the win.”
The sprinter has been in great form on her home track since debuting in early December, winning five from five.
A daughter of Just The Best x Fancy Ranga, her last start here saw her produce another 21.08 victory and she has running consistently around that mark times at the track.

It could be a good day for Goodwin, with two of her other hopes also looking decent chances today.
Solid Ticketmaster (box two) looks a strong contender in race two if he can maintain his recent steady form, while Red Enforcer looks very tempting in the 10th.
He won last start with a great run from box five and with this draw he should be capable of saluting here.
“Red Enforcer is only a young pup and still learning, but he’s doing well,” Goodwin said.
“Ticketmaster has run some good races for me so far. If she jumps well then she should get this one.
“Fingers crossed it can be a good day for us.”
In other action, take Jazz Cruz and Spicy Custard to take out races five and nine respectively.
