The Price Looks Right For Another Win

By Stuart Turner

Solid stayer Mullaway has pulled up well from an interstate trip and is looking strong for a win at Thursday’s Albion Park.

Joanne Price’s stayer jumps from box seven in the tattsbet.com Stakes (710m) aiming for a 13th win in 41 starts.

Mullaway’s last start was an unsuccessful first journey to Victoria in preparation for a possible crack at the forthcoming Group 1 Macro Meats Super Stayers OVER 725m.

He had no luck at the Meadows last Saturday but owner-trainer Price said he should be a contender here.

“I have no worries in him,” Price said. “He handled the plane trick well and looks fantastic.

“He always does his best for me and looks like he is ready to go.”

Mullaway blew away a similar field at Albion Park earlier this month and loves his visits to the track.

He is the fastest on paper here and his last start triumph in here from the same box was indicative of his class.

After trailing the initial pacesetter, he found the rail and then powered home to win by almost 10 lengths.

Hougenie (box one) should provide tough opposition but Mullaway looks the likeliest winner here in the night’s fifth race.

“The 600 and 700 is definitely his best distance,” she said. “OVER the 500m he just gets into too much trouble.

“It really depends on the start.  As long as he gets OVER to the rail, which he usually does, he should go well.

“I don’t get too excited about my greyhounds but as long as comes out of the box well, he should be capable of winning.”

Last start winner Farmer’s Gold and Dream River look he best chances in race six, with the latter possibly having the edge.

Farmer’s Gold is inside Dream River on the rail but is usually a slow starter, so expect Dream River to cross early and lead.

Super Velo (race six) and Sheridon in the seventh look strong chances to complete the quaddie.

Look for Sticka Size in race three and race four’s Up The Attitude to win as both seem too strong for the fields here.
