Heidi Benz Looking To Motor At Ipswich

By Stuart Turner

Wildash Warrior and Heidi Benz look the early standouts for the Group 2 Vince Curry Memorial Maiden (520m) at Ipswich.

Eleven heats of the $40,000-to-the-winner series are split over this Friday and Saturday night’s meetings, with several promising chasers in action.

Wildash Warrior has produced three good races so far in his early career and looks a good chance to take out the third heat on Friday.

The son of Don’t Knocka Him x Shez Romantic has placed on his three outings so far – all over the 431m at Ipswich – so clearly has ability.

Eight heats take place on Saturday with some decent races in prospect.

Amy Cobb, who has run a smart 31.15 for the distance already, looks a strong contender in Saturday’s first heat and could be a decent chance for the series.

Cosmic Trail and Houso Delight look good chances in heats two and three.

I’ma Country Boy, Heidi Benz, Chippa Lata, Black Casper and Paua To Admit look strong hopefuls in the other heats.

Heidi Benz has shown quality in her two outings so far and may be a good chance to take out the series.

The daughter of Westmead Osprey and Berella Ciata has gone well at Lismore and Albion Park so far and looks to have good racing sense.

Chippa Lata ran a good second last week at Ipswich over the 431m and also looks handy.

A son of Lochinvar Marlow x Gold Sonata, he showed good mid-race speed on his first start.

The semi-finals of the series take place on February 14, with the final a week later.
