Paul Stuart will have three of the eight runners in Saturday night's Group 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup, including fastest qualifier Astronomize.

Taking part in the first heat of the night, Astronomize began brilliantly from box four, setting a first sectional time of 5.65, on his way to win in an overall time of 30.05.

It was the start of a great night for Stuart who took out the second heat with Starlight Jack who won a thrilling photo finish from the Jason Thompson trained Xtreme Knocka in 30.26.

Stuart's third heat winner was Quartz Bale who took a while to get going before winning in 30.12.

Arguably the most exciting heat of the night was the final one, in which My Bro Fabio went up against Dyna Double One.

Trained by Victorian Brooke Ennis, My Bro Fabio began moderately before showing his trademark turn of foot in the middle stages to run down Dyna Double One and pull away in the final straight to win in 30.47, with Dyna Double Oone a further 5 1/4 lengths away in second.

Victorian trained greyhounds took out two other cup heats.

Star Recall, who used to be based in Western Australia before Jeff Britton took over training duties, renewed her love affair with the Cannington track, winning her heat comfortably in 30.17.

Meanwhile the Thompson trained Whodat' Knockin won his heat in 30.55.

The remaining heat was taken out by the John Carmody-trained Downlight in 30.51.

Meanwhile, in the Perth Galaxy heats for the stayers, Space Star continued the form that saw him take out the Group 2 Summer Distance Plate in January.

Begnning well, Space Star got into a nice rhythm and led all the way to win in 41.57.

The other Galaxy heat was taken out by the Brooke Ennis trained Lady Toy in 41.84.

The Group 1 Perth Cup will be held on Saturday with $140,000 awaiting the winner.
