Tureaud Looking Good For Happy Homecoming

By Stuart Turner

Boom newcomer Tureaud is back on home turf and looks a strong chance to claim another victory at Cannington on Saturday.

The sprinter, who won a heat of the Group 1 Silver Chief Classic at The Meadows last month on his first trip east, jumps from box six in the skyracingtv Stakes (530m).

Paul Stuart’s chaser has enjoyed a strong start to his career, with nine wins and three placings from 14 starts.

He finished fourth in the Silver Chief semi-final in a strong field of local chasers, including winner Gorham Bale.

Stuart has indicated he may bring Tureaud east again for a crack at the Golden Easter Egg heats in March if he maintains his current impressive progress.

A son of Kinloch Brae x Starlight Delly, Tureaud won his only previous start from box six and looks to have too much class for the rest here in the night’s eighth race.

West On Delly (box two) and Jump the Queue in box three should both provide strong opposition but Tureaud has real quality and can make it double figures for wins here.

Consistent Star Recall, recent Group 3 Young Star Classic winner Starlight Jack and handy former Victorian sprinter All Strung Out face an intriguing battle in the fifth over 530m.

Star Recall is returning from a successful trip to Victoria and although she is dropping back in distance from recent efforts she should be able to win this.

Although she has a patchy record from box two, from which she jumps from here, she is a quality performer and looks better drawn than her rivals.

Former sprinter My Mate Cobber has made an impressive step up to the staying ranks and should win the night’s third race over 715m.

He won his first 715m outing well last start and should have too much for the rest here jumping from box one.

Other strong contenders at Cannington include Romeo’s Comet (race four) and Downlight in race seven.

The former is another from the Stuart kennel who isusually strong with the red rug, while the latter is also relaible from the inside boxes and is the fastest here.
