Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of guaiphenesin the sample taken from Ron’s Double after it won the Happy Birthday Debbie Casey Stake at Casino on 31 October 2014.
Trainer Robert McGregor has been advised of the irregularity, with the reserve portion of the sample forwarded to another accredited laboratory for further confirmatory analysis. Upon confirmation or otherwise the matter will proceed having regard to the protocols established under GRNSW’s penalty guideline system.
