Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) advises that it has received notification from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory of the presence of piroxicam and 5-hydroxy-piroxicam in the sample taken from Left Field after it finished sixth in the Sportingbet Stakes at Wentworth Park on 23 May 2014.
Trainer Frank Anderson has been advised of the irregularity, with the reserve portion of the sample forwarded to another accredited laboratory for further confirmatory analysis. Upon confirmation or otherwise the matter will proceed having regard to the protocols established under GRNSW’s penalty guideline system.
