Hobart Thousand Winner Goes Above And Beyond

By thedogs.com.au

Above All announced his arrival on the big stage with a devastating win in the Group 1 Tattsbet Hobart Thousand, in which he smashed the existing 461m track record.

Jumping from box five, Above All seemed to be in another league to his rivals, jumping straight to the front and never being head.

His winning time of 25.52 was a new track record and some two lengths better than the previous mark set by Paw Licking in the same race last year.

Above All, trained by Robert Britton, was seven lengths ahead of Ride The Rails, who was gallant in second, while recent Melbourne Cup winner Dyna Villa finishing third.

Above All, who is owned by New Zealand connections, has now won eight races from 13 starts.

He will be on the quick, with the son of Magic Sprite taking part in the Silver Chief heats on Saturday night at The Meadows.
