Winsome Prince Remains Unbeaten

By thedogs.com.au

Winsome Prince made it 11 wins from 11 starts, with one of the hottest prospects in greyhound racing scoring a 8 1/4 length win at Bulli on Wednesday night.

Jumping from box seven, the Melinda Finn-trained chaser began poorly and was forced to go wide to circle the early leaders.

Winsome Prince (pictured) then found another level in the home straight, powering away from his rivals to win the 400m race in 22.55, on what was a wet track.

The win by the son of Barcia Bale maintains his unbeaten record, with the ease in which he has done that suggesting he will be competitive at the highest level of the sport.

Finn told thedogs.com.au this week that a planned trip for Winsome Prince to the Silver Chief heats at The Meadows on 20 December was now off the cards, with the Cranebrook trainer instead opting to aim for some of the lucrative NSW races in January.

This includes a tilt at the Group 1 Ladbrokes Paws Of Thunder and the Group 1 National Derby.

Winsome Prince tasted Group success early in his career, winning the Group 3 Dapto Maiden in August.

Up next though for Winsome Prince will be a return trip to Bulli next week, with the win last night coming in a sprint series heat.

Despite the impressive display from Winsome Prince, he did not set the best time of the night for the first time in seven starts.

That honour went to Natural Player, who scored his 25th win from 39 career starts.

Competing in a Masters race, Natural Player was too good his rivals to score a dominant 12 1/2/ length win in a very quick 22.46.
