Keybow">Keybow continued trainer Darren McDonald’s superb 2014 by taking out the Group 1 Sky Racing Brisbane Cup (520m).
The sprinter dug deep and produced a powerful surge from the final bend to claim Thursday night’s race at Albion Park in 29.98.
It was a second Group 1 victory of the year for the Victorian chaser, who started the final as $2.40 favourite.
Fusaichi Kahn ($30.80) produced a mighty run to finish second, just over three lengths back.
Last year’s winner Kiss Me Ketut was third.
The win made it six Group 1 victories this year for gun trainer McDonald, which includes Keybow’s win in the Sky Racing Perth Cup back in February.
