Summer Has Never Been So Sweet

Australia's best stayer Sweet It Is heads to Wentworth Park on Saturday night for the heats of the Group 3 Schweppes Summer Cup (720m).

Sweet It Is (pictured) will jump from box one in the second heat of the $25,000-to-the-winner series.

The Darren McDonald-trained greyhound is coming off a brilliant win in the Group 1 Bold Trease Carnival Cup at Sandown Park last week. It was the daughter of Mogambo's fourth Group 1 victory and took her career earnings above $550,000.

Sweet It Is is likely to start a very short-priced favourite in her Summer Cup heat, but will no doubt be kept honest by the likes of Dusty Moonshine (box four) and Sydney Cup finalist Zipping Rory (box two).

The other heat includes Pumped Up Zarr (box six), who is coming off a brilliant win at Wentworth Park last weekend in 42.07 - a career best time for the Neil Staines-trained stayer.

In other action at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, Zipping Willow (box eight) resumes her rivalry with Anything Less (box six) in race six.

Meanwhile, Whittaker returns to the Glebe track in race five. The Julie Fletcher-trained youngster has won six from 10, but failed to run a place at his only start at Wentworth Park in October.
