By thedogs.com.au

The catalogue for the inaugural 2014 Globe Memorial Richmond Puppy Classic Auction has been released with a massive 369 lots listed.

The auction will take place on Sunday, 30 November with all puppies sold at the 2014 event eligible to compete in the 2016 Richmond Riches, a race series which will offer more than $140,000 in prizemoney, with the feature event worth a whopping $100,000 to the eventual winner.

Featured in the auction will be some regally bred types with puppies by boom sires such as Where’s Pedro, Collision, Cosmic Rumble, El Grand Senor, Lochinvar Marlow and many more, on offer. There will also be pups available by up and coming sires including Barcia Bale (pictured), Oaks Road, Spring Gun and Fabregas.

Journey Park’s resident sire Magic Sprite, has the highest number of pups entered at the auction with 52 being offered from no less than 16 different dam-lines.

Richmond General Manager, Wayne Billet, said he was delighted with the quantity and quality of the pups nominated for the Auction.

“The phone and faxes just never stopped in the weeks leading up to the nominations closing, and in the end, we turned away another 120 pups,” he said.

“The numbers are amazing but I’m told by people who know a lot more about breeding than I do, that the quality of the dam-lines of the pups is as good as you’ll see at any auction and we are now counting down the days until 30 November.”

The Richmond Puppy Auction will be broadcast live on Sky Racing2 (Foxtel channel 520).
