Finns To Take Time With Unbeaten Winsome Prince

By Jeff Collerson

Melinda and John Finn are in no rush to take unbeaten Dapto Maiden Classic winner Winsome Prince to Wentworth Park.

Winsome Prince made it a perfect seven wins from seven starts at Maitland last week with a dominant victory over the 450m in a best of the afternoon time of 25.07.

To date, he has hardly been challenged in his career with his smallest winning margin being two lengths to Paua Explosion in a semi final of the Dapto Maiden.

While the beautifully bred son of Barcia Bale looks like he could be a star of the future, John Finn says time his on his side.

“He is only 19 months old so there is plenty of time to bring Winsome Prince to town,’’ Finn said.

While Finn remains patient he has no doubt Winsome Prince will handle Wentworth Park.

"Winsome Prince will handle Wenty without any problem because I gave him a hand-slip at the track early in his career and he went extremely well," he said.

The Finns are enjoying a good run at the moment with their other kennel star, Anything Less, taking out a heat of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Vic Peters Classic at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Anything Less has now won eight from 11 starts and looks like he will be one of the favourites to take out the three week feature series.

the semi-finals take place this Saturday with the $75,000-to-the-winner final on Saturday, November 1.
