Tureaud Aiming For Seventh Heaven At Cannington

By Stuart Turner

Tureaud">Tureaud faces the biggest test of his impeccable racing record at Cannington on Saturday night but owner-trainer Paul Stuart is hopeful of another win.

The exciting sprinter, who has triumphed on all six outings so far, goes from box seven in The Peter Thomas Final (530m).

He faces some tricky opposition this time out, though, including in-form Cosmic Rambo.

Stuart said he is “ecstatic” with how his chaser is going and hopes he can maintain his impressive progression.

“He is only a young dog but he is accepting the challenge each time.

“He has taken me a bit by surprise (but) I’m really happy with how he’s travelling.

“He had shown he had reasonable ability but he keeps improving

“This is a big step up for him (but) I’m ecstatic with how he’s going.”

Tureaud has raced entirely at Cannington so far and has a best time for the distance of 30.14.

Box seven will not be ideal but Stuart said his greyhound had the speed to win.

“His run home times have been unbelievable,” Stuart said.

“Probably the biggest issue the speed that’s around him. He needs to hope for a clear run early and not give the leaders too big a break.

“It’s his hardest race so far but I’m hoping he can acquit himself well.”

Stuart said it may not be long before NSW fans get the chance to see Tureaud in action too.

“I’m hoping to bring him over to the city tracks either in Sydney or Melbourne over the next couple of months,” he said.

“That might test him but if he can run the times on the east coast he’s been doing  here then we’ll see how good he is.”

Other notables at Cannington include Milk and Cookies (race two), Star Recall and Zelemar Fever, who go head-to-head in race four and Three Votes in race seven.

Ten races are on the card and action starts at 9.05pm (AEST).
