Recent Peter Mosman winner Bessy Boo and highly promising Tommy Brislane are among the confirmed nominations for this year’s NSW heats of the Group 1 AGRA National Sprint Championships (530m).

The pair are among 21 nominations for the next Saturday’s heat, the first step on the road to a crack at the $75,000 top prize for the winner of the national race.

Bessy Boo has enjoyed a superb year so far, highlighted by his stunning final victory in June’s Rapidvite Peter Mosman Classic over 520m at Wentworth Park.

Tommy Brislane (pictured) is one of the country’s most eye-catching newcomers, having racked up nine wins from his first 11 starts.

Other notables nominated include Group 1 National Futurity winner Rue De Kahn, Queen Esther, My Awesome Opal and Chica Destacada.

Among the 15 confirmed nominations for the AGRA National Distance Championship (715m) are DEAN Swain’s Eleazar and MAJELLA Ferguson’s impressive recent performer Cyclone Simone.

The heats of both races take place at Wentworth Park on Saturday, August 2, with the finals a week later.

WA’s Cannington hosts the finals of both races, which will feature the winners from each participating state, on Saturday, August 23.

The final participating list and draw for both races will be finalised over the coming days.
