Reminder Of Introduction of Local Rules

By GRNSW

Greyhound Racing NSW reminds participants of the introduction of Local Rules 21B, 105, 117 and 119 effective from 1 July, previously advised on 21 May 2014.

In respect of the introduction of LR 21B, trainers will have to ensure that any greyhound not having started for six months has satisfactorily trialled under the provisions of LR 72. Upon presentation for such trial the greyhound will undergo a veterinary examination to ensure it’s fitness to resume racing. There is no cost for this provision.

Nominations for these trials may be made through the GRNSW Stewards Department.

The introduction of LR 105, 117 and 119 clarify and strengthen reporting provisions of the custody and care of a greyhound in line with GRNSW’s continued enhancements to greyhound welfare.

Any queries on the new rule introduction can be answered by contacting the GRNSW Integrity Department on (02) 8767 0500.
