Bank Again Hopes To Cash In At The Gardens

By Stuart Turner

Notable newcomer Bank Again gets another chance to impress at Saturday’s twilight meeting at The Gardens.

The promising sprinter has won two from two for his Hunter-based owner/trainer Darryl Wilson but a tough field lies ahead in the Lochnivar Marlow @ Stud Betfair Stakes (400m).

Bang Pow Boom will go for a fourth consecutive victory from box two, while recent strong performers Redneck Boyd and Sylvie are also in contention.

Wilson is hoping his fledgling charge can continue his early good form.

“He’s doing the little things right at the moment,” he said.

“I think there’s a couple of dogs in the race who’ve had a few runs recently, whereas mine should be nice and fresh.

“If he gets in front he could lead them so fast, they’ll be dizzy.”

Bank Again has won on both previous 400m visits to the Gardens, with a 22.68 time first up.

He will go from box one which his trainer believes will suit his charge perfectly.

“It should suit him to a tee,” Wilson, who is based at Abermain, close to CESSNOCK, said.

“If he can jump well, they’ll have hard work catching him.

“I’m hoping to run him through the grades at other tracks and then see how we go.”

Bang Pow Boom has been in excellent form recently,  with  three wins coming at the Gardens since June 11.

Redneck Boyd has won two in a row at The Gardens, while Sylvie has won two of her last three outings at the track.

Murray has been involved with greyhounds for about a decade after being encouraged by a family friend.

“I just like the challenge of it,” he said.  “It’s fun trying to get an each-way dog to win.

“I try and take the good the bad and go with the flow.

“There’s no point worrying about things too much – it’s a bit like life really.”

Ten races are on the card and action starts at 4.39pm.
